13U-a division

Players in the 13U-A division are placed into teams upon registration.  Coaches within the Layritz Baseball may hold assessment before the start of the season to ensure the teams are equally divided.

Typically, there will be 12-13 players per team.  If there are more than 13 players that register, but not enough to create a 2nd team, those registrants will be put on a waiting list.  Players will be placed on teams on a first-come first-serve basis.

The 13U-A teams play an interlocked season with other baseball clubs in the Greater Victoria Baseball Association (GVBA), that leads to playoffs deciding the City Champions.

The 13U-A Prospect Team is a team that is made up of players from the 13U-A teams and play additional games within the 13U-A season.  Developing a prospect team within the league is determined at the beginning of the season and coaches will let parents know at that time whether a prospect team is going to be developed.

These games are weaved in through the weekly games within the 13U-A season or double header games are organized on the weekends.

However, the 13U-A Projects Teams do not participate in the playoffs for the city championships.

13U-aa division

The 13U-AA division are made of players that plays at a higher level of competition.  However, these teams are not always developed annually within our association.  Please check back regurlarly for updates for this division and we will most certainly provide more information by way of a newsletter or emails throughout the year if there is a possibility of developing a team for this division.

In general, the teams are developed through formal assessments held by volunteer coaches within the Layritz Baseball Association.  There will be additional fees per player to cover field use, umpires, and premium uniforms.

In addition, there will be more travel required to play other teams in BC as well as participate in out-of-town tournaments.
