​Layritz Intermediate Baseball

Layritz Intermediate Baseball is a part of GVBA, aimed at older youth players (typically ages 12–18). It uses a larger field than the younger divisions (with longer base paths and pitching distances), and follows more advanced baseball rules (like lead-offs and stealing)—closely aligned with Little League’s “Intermediate” or “50/70” division

  • Age Groups / Levels
    • 13U: Born in 2013–2014
    • 15U: Born in 2011–2012
    • 18U : Born in 2010–2007
    • SIBL: 18 years and older 
  • Field Dimensions & Rules
    • Intermediate/50‑70 format: 50 ft pitching distance, 70 ft base paths; players can lead-off and steal bases 
    • 15U is played on 80′ base paths; U18 uses full 90′ dimensions
  • Season Structure
    • Spring season typically runs early April to late June, with playoffs in Late‑June.
    • Games are 2–3 times per week; A/AA tiers may include weekend tournaments and extended seasons 
    • 15UAA baseball is a full-season team. Starting April 1st and ending in Late July. It required more commitment than other levels. 
  • Levels of Competition
    • Divisions include A, AA, and sometimes tiers—ranging from recreational (A) to competitive, travel-based (AA).
    • Assessments may be required to join AA teams, which often involve additional fees and travel 
  • Volunteer-Run Community League
    • Entirely organized and coached by volunteers—parents, local coaches, and community members.
    • All families are expected to help with , field prep, scorekeeping, etc.
